Desert Mountain Club invests $1.6M in tech for golf academy

Not all technology has to be monumentally significant to business. Some of it can simply help people learn how to hit a ball with a crooked stick.
Desert Mountain Club Inc. recently shelled out $1.6 million to overhaul its golf academy and become a little more tech-savvy. That has included implementing a three-dimensional motion-capture system to see how a golfer swings, a FlightScope system that uses Doppler radar to show how the club and ball are moving, and a video analysis system that the club claims Tiger Woods uses.
