As the seasons change and temperatures begin to dip, the Mountain takes on fresh energy with an exciting lineup of events and activities. Our clubhouses, courses, and restaurants are alive year-round, but this season brings an added vibrancy that highlights everything that makes Desert Mountain so special.
Golf Events
When the fall and winter season arrives, it’s the golf events that truly make Desert Mountain shine. Over 20 tournaments are to be played between November to April. Each tournament has a different theme and scoring format, giving Members ample opportunity to prove they are the best on the Mountain. Notably, Mountain Magic, with 216 women, and Mountain Mania, 728 men, are the largest of the events and always provide a party atmosphere mixed with championship-level golf.
Signature Events
Off the course, Members flock to the many signature events all winter long. These events bring together music, renowned speakers, dining, art, and holiday celebrations that cater to all interests and tastes. Events like Pearls & Prosecco will offer Members the chance to hear from a global pearl producer, shop from a large selection of pearls while sipping a glass of prosecco.
A lively atmosphere at 56tee’s Rockin’ Dinner Show promises an event of nostalgia for Members to rock out to classics from The Beatles, Elvis, Chuck Berry, and many others. There will also be a themed dinner with some of the best diner favorites.
An important aspect of dining on the Mountain is bringing Members a variety of global cuisine. In April, our Grillin’ Around the World event will take Members on a journey to discover the bold flavors and aromas of dishes from countries around the world.
These more intimate events happen weekly, but there’s always room for a Mountain-wide party. On Halloween, our annual Fall Bash will transform the C/G Clubhouse into a haunted haven. Members show up in their best costumes as they enjoy a frightfully delicious feast paired with monster jams from Dean Michaels & Company. In 2026, Members head into summer at the Spring Bash, where they’ll enjoy a bountiful dinner menu and an open dance floor to end the season on a high note.
Outdoor & Wellness Events
In between all the dancing and dining, there is always room for outdoor recreation and wellness at Sonoran Clubhouse.
At Desert Mountain, there are over 25 miles of private hiking trails. Some trails are rated as moderate difficulty to more challenging, so it can be tough to know which trail might be best for Members. This is why the Outdoor Adventures team is starting Guided Hikes to take Members on complimentary treks on the different trails at Desert Mountain. Each hike will be on a new trail, so there will always be something new to learn. Outdoor enthusiasts will also enjoy a two-day trip to the Grand Canyon with geologist Wayne Ranney who will share the stories and secrets of the northern Arizona landscape.
If Members are looking for new ways to relax, the Sip & Spa Soirée offers a wonderful overview. At The Spa, Members can mix and mingle with a glass of bubbly as they talk with a mix of vendors about curated products and services to add to their skincare routine. It’s a perfect afternoon to spend with friends and family as Members discover new products that can help their skin look their best.
For any Member looking for some athletic competition, and maybe ways to balance the Thanksgiving calories, the Thanksgiving Dodgeball Tournament and the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot promise to deliver. Members put together their teams to find out who is the best dodgeballer on the Mountain, then the next morning have some family fun as they run through the community streets in a 1-mile fun run/walk or a 5k fun run/race.
During the winter season, there’s never any shortage of fun at Desert Mountain. If you want to be part of the fun at one of the best private golf clubs in Scottsdale, talk with our Membership team to get started.
